Sobre el libro Basura, de Nick Quijano

Abstract

This article reflects on the work of Puerto Rican artist Nick Quijano, emphasizing his sculptural assemblages made from trash fragments. This reflection takes place in the context of the publication of the extensive catalog for his 2012 exhibition Basura at the Museo de Las Américas. It reviews in detail some of the essays included in the catalog. It also highlights the importance of the exhibition at the time and the relevance of Quijano’s work in these times of environmental crisis.
